OPeNDAP allows one to give a application a url and have it directly download data. To read this data into matlab use 
loaddap('http://129.236.110.25/SOURCES/.UY/.precipitacion/time+partial/lon+differences/ngridtable/%5Blon+lat+%5Daverage/dods')
