OPeNDAP allows one to give a application a url and have it directly download data. To read this data into matlab use 
loaddap('http://129.236.110.25/SOURCES/.UY/.precipitacion/%5Blon+%5Dmaxover/%5Blat+%5Ddetrend-bfl/%5Blat+%5Daverage/dods')
