OPeNDAP allows one to give a application a url and have it directly download data. To read this data into matlab use 
loaddap('http://129.236.110.25/SOURCES/.OLE2/.ZIKA/lon/%5Boccurence_id+%5Drmsaover/ngridtable/dods')
