OPeNDAP allows one to give a application a url and have it directly download data. To read this data into matlab use 
loaddap('http://129.236.110.25/SOURCES/.OLE2/.CPT/.ESCENARIO1/WETDAY/1+index/.TMIN/%5BY+C+%5Dminover/%5BX+%5Dmaxover/dods')
