OPeNDAP allows one to give a application a url and have it directly download data. To read this data into matlab use 
loaddap('http://129.236.110.25/SOURCES/.OLE2/.CPT/.ESCENARIO1/.ODDSTMIN/%5BC%5Ddifferences/Y+differences/%5BX+%5Dminover/%5BS+%5Daverage/dods')
